We wanted something that would be recognizable and iconic for the Birkie for many years to come.
It was important that the trophies for the Men’s and Women’s champions be equal, but different. The two warriors were separated, one for the Men’s trophy and one for the Women’s trophy. Each trophy stands alone but is also incomplete without the other.

The American Birkebeiner® trophies are made of pewter and electroplated with brass. They were sculpted in a special homemade oil clay and a cnc router engraved the titles before making molds and casting them. After electroplating with brass to give them the golden color, a brown and black patina (color) was applied to the warriors and the rims were polished to a mirror finish. Each piece is individually signed.
